Terms of Use
Last updated: May 5, 2026
Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of VerseMentor, including the VerseMentor iOS application, website, account features, subscriptions, Bible-guidance features, and related services. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using VerseMentor, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use VerseMentor.
If you use VerseMentor on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for them. These Terms are intended to work alongside Apple App Store terms, Apple Media Services terms, and any applicable in-app purchase terms.
Provider and Contact
VerseMentor is provided by Althemax for spiritual encouragement and Bible-guided reflection. For questions about these Terms, account deletion, or support, contact [email protected].
License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms and applicable App Store rules, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use VerseMentor on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, and as otherwise permitted by Apple usage rules, including Family Sharing or similar Apple features where applicable.
You do not acquire ownership of VerseMentor, its software, content, prompts, retrieval systems, trademarks, designs, or other intellectual property. We and our licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
Service Description
VerseMentor provides Scripture-grounded spiritual encouragement, Bible references, prayers, reflection prompts, confession preparation, gratitude prompts, grief comfort, discernment support, and Bible study assistance. The service uses Bible retrieval, app instructions, usage controls, and AI-generated responses.
Features, Bible versions, subscription tiers, limits, AI models, admin tooling, and backend infrastructure may change, be suspended, or be discontinued as the service develops.
Important Spiritual, Pastoral, and Professional Disclaimer
VerseMentor is not a priest, pastor, minister, ordained clergy, sacramental confession, spiritual director, medical professional, therapist, lawyer, financial adviser, emergency service, or crisis service. VerseMentor does not provide absolution, sacraments, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, financial advice, emergency response, or professional counseling.
AI-generated guidance may be incomplete, mistaken, unsuitable for your circumstances, or based on limited retrieved context. You should verify Bible quotations, references, and interpretations. For serious spiritual matters, confession, pastoral care, medical concerns, mental health concerns, legal decisions, financial decisions, or safety issues, seek help from qualified clergy, licensed professionals, emergency services, or trusted local support.
If you may harm yourself or others, are experiencing abuse, or are in immediate danger, stop using VerseMentor for that issue and contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
AI Output and Bible References
VerseMentor attempts to answer using relevant Bible passages and clearly cited references. If no directly applicable biblical teaching is found, VerseMentor may say so and provide general guidance while referring to the nearest relevant teaching. You remain responsible for evaluating and applying any output.
AI output is generated for informational and devotional use. It is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for every denomination, tradition, culture, personal situation, or legal jurisdiction.
Accounts, Security, and Eligibility
You may need an account to use some features. You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify us of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures.
VerseMentor is intended for users who can lawfully enter into these Terms. If you are under the age required by your jurisdiction or Apple account rules, you may use VerseMentor only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
Subscriptions, In-App Purchases, and Billing
Paid VerseMentor plans are sold through Apple in-app purchase. Billing, renewal, cancellation, refund handling, and payment method management are generally controlled by Apple and your Apple account settings. We do not receive or store your full card details.
Subscription tiers may include different response limits, token limits, features, or usage allowances. Limits may be enforced to manage AI model costs, abuse prevention, and service availability. Unused usage allowances do not roll over unless we expressly state otherwise.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account. Deleting the app or deleting a VerseMentor account may not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; you should also manage the subscription through Apple.
Acceptable Use
You must not misuse VerseMentor, attempt to bypass usage limits, interfere with the service, reverse engineer protected parts of the app or backend, scrape or bulk extract content, upload unlawful or infringing material, impersonate others, harass people, or use VerseMentor to generate instructions for self-harm, violence, abuse, exploitation, fraud, malware, or other harmful activity.
You must not use VerseMentor in a way that violates applicable law, Apple rules, third-party rights, or these Terms.
User Content and Feedback
You retain ownership of messages, prompts, notes, and other content you submit, subject to any rights held by others. You grant us a limited license to process that content as needed to operate VerseMentor, provide responses, maintain safety and security, troubleshoot issues, enforce these Terms, and improve the service where permitted by our Privacy Policy.
If you send suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, but we are not required to implement them.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information. By using VerseMentor, you also acknowledge the Privacy Policy at versementor.com/privacy.html.
Account Deletion and Chat History
You may request account deletion in app settings. Account login is deactivated when deletion is requested. Account information is scheduled for deletion after 14 days unless legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or abuse-prevention obligations require limited retention.
You may clear local chat history in the app settings. Clearing local chat history removes conversation history stored on that device for the signed-in user and asks the backend to clear stored chat memory where applicable.
Third-Party Services
VerseMentor may rely on Apple services, cloud hosting, authentication providers, AI model providers, database services, payment services, analytics, and other infrastructure providers. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using VerseMentor.
App Store Terms and Apple
For iOS distribution, Apple and Apple subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms where required by Apple rules. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple may have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary to that extent.
Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for VerseMentor, handling claims relating to VerseMentor, or addressing claims that VerseMentor infringes third-party intellectual property rights, except as required by applicable law or Apple rules. Your use of VerseMentor must comply with Apple Media Services terms and App Store usage rules.
Intellectual Property
VerseMentor, the VerseMentor name, app design, website, source code, prompts, retrieval pipeline, generated assets, and service architecture are protected by intellectual property laws. Bible translations, commentary, and third-party content may be subject to separate licenses or public-domain status. You must not remove notices, misuse marks, or claim ownership of VerseMentor materials.
Updates and Availability
We may provide updates, fixes, new features, or changes that replace or supplement prior versions. Some updates may be required to continue using the service. VerseMentor may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, outages, model-provider issues, cloud-provider issues, legal requirements, security incidents, or other causes.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or others, misuse subscriptions or usage limits, or if we are required to do so by law or platform rules. You may stop using VerseMentor at any time. Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
No Warranties
VerseMentor is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that VerseMentor will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, spiritually appropriate for every user, or free from harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity; service interruption; subscription issues handled by Apple; or decisions made based on VerseMentor output. Our total liability for claims relating to VerseMentor is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for VerseMentor in the three months before the claim or USD 50, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Indemnity
Where permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of VerseMentor, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of third-party rights.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated date above shows when changes were last made. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If changes materially affect your rights, we will take reasonable steps to notify you through the app, website, or account contact information where appropriate.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the provider of VerseMentor, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer protection laws in your location require otherwise.
